N7: Rehabilitation works on the road linking Manica to Tete enter the signaling phase

N7: Obras de reabilitação da estrada que liga Manica a Tete entram na fase de sinalização

The rehabilitation of the National Road number 7 (N7), which connects the province of Manica to the province of Tete, in central Mozambique, is well underway and the road is already being signposted. The rehabilitation work began in 2023 with the improvement of the sidewalk surface.

According to the delegate of the National Roads Administration (ANE), Moisés Dzimba, the signposting is being done from the intersection with National Road Number 6 (first lot), which covers a stretch of 124 kilometers to the town of Catandica, in the district of Báruè.

Quoted in a Sunday newspaperThe source said that as far as the pavement covering is concerned, around 35 kilometers have already been rehabilitated and that the contractor has started to mark the horizontal signs throughout this section.

"At the moment, the marking work for later signposting is taking place along kilometer 16, from the junction with the N6″, he stressed.

Once the horizontal signs have been completed, ANE will replace the damaged vertical signs and install new ones at strategic points, with the aim of improving safety and road traffic.

The N7 is a vital road for Mozambique, linking the provinces of Manica and Tete, and is also an important trade corridor for neighboring countries such as Zimbabwe, Malawi and Zambia.
