The journalist and co-founder of the weekly Público, Rui de Carvalho, lost his life on Wednesday morning (25) in Maputo to illness.

It is said that in his lifetime, Rui de Carvalho worked for the newspapers MediaFax, Savana and Zambézia.

Until the time of his death, in addition to his role as Chairman of the Board of Semanário Público, Rui de Carvalho was a councillor for Human Resources on the Maputo City Council.

Rui de Carvalho leaves a son and a widow.
