The Inspector General of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation, Igma Macule, recently announced that the country will strengthen its digital defense capacity with Cyber Security Incident Response Teams (CICERC).
"The initiative provides for "the creation of a national mechanism for promoting, sharing, cooperating and coordinating on cyber security," he said, quoted by the Mozambican Information Agency.
The measure is part of the National Cyber Security Strategy and aims to ensure greater protection of sensitive information and the country's critical infrastructures.
The CICERC's mission will be to monitor threats, coordinate incident responses, provide technical support and work closely with national and international partners.
"Preventing and responding to cyber incidents requires information sharing, coordination and collaboration between teams. It is in this context that the consolidation of the CICERC National Network is underway," he stressed.
