Mozambique registers GDP rise of 3.36% in the third quarter

Moçambique regista subida do PIB em 3,36% no terceiro trimestre

The National Statistics Institute (INE) revealed this Wednesday, that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) registered an increase of 3.36% during the quarter.

According to INE, GDP at market prices showed a positive variation of 3.36% in the third quarter of 2021, when compared to the same period in 2020, making an accumulated growth of 1.78%.

In the quarterly accounts released by INE, they indicate that during the third quarter there was an accelerating trend in the GDP.

"The figures leave GDP 32 basis points away from the target set by the State Budget for this year (2.1%) and reinforce the sign of recovery from the crisis caused by the covid-19 pandemic," the document reads.
