Mozambique considers sending manpower to Qatar

Moçambique pondera enviar mão-de-obra a Qatar

The government is considering the possibility of sending qualified labor to work in Qatar's main companies in the near future, based on the cooperation agreements signed with that country.

The information was revealed yesterday in Doha by the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, at the end of a meeting with the Mozambican community, as part of his visit to the Mozambican embassy in the Qatari capital.

At the moment, 354 Mozambicans work in the country and 96% of these are in companies linked to mining and catering. According to Maleiane, efforts are underway to make new agreements possible so that more Mozambicans can be hired by local companies.

"We are working to ensure that more of our fellow citizens can be admitted to Qatari companies within the legal framework. We have many compatriots who have come here professionally, which is always good because they are making their contribution to the growth of this country's economy. This contribution is always a milestone and we want it to increase with the arrival of more Mozambicans," said Maleiane, quoted by the newspaper Notícias.

For Guibson Mussane, president of the Mozambican Community in Qatar, the country is currently an ideal destination for Mozambican labor, as there are many job opportunities with excellent pay.

"I invite my qualified compatriots to come to Qatar because there are job opportunities. All you need is experience and knowledge of the area, and you'll have plenty of chances to be hired," invited the president of the Mozambican Community in Qatar.
