Mozambique and Qatar seal 20 MM$ agreement for development projects

The Mozambican government and the Qatari conglomerate Al Mansour Holding have signed a strategic agreement worth 20 billion dollars, to be used for the country's development projects..

A long-term investment, with a social impact and the creation of jobs and opportunities for young people, the amount should be invested in the agriculture, energy, infrastructure, health, education and tourism sectors.

The agreement was initialed by the executive coordinator of the Office of Reforms and Strategic Projects, Osvaldo Machatine, and the representative of the Qatari conglomerate, Sheikh Mansour Bin Jabor Jassim Al Thani.

The signing of the strategic agreement preceded an audience granted by the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, to Sheikh Mansour Al Thani.

Following the signing of the agreement, Sheikh Mansour said that "cooperation signifies a strategic commitment between Africa and the Middle East", and stressed the importance of the projects, saying that they would leave lasting legacies and strengthen sustainable development, calling for joint mobilization to achieve the objectives.

"Mozambique is at a crucial moment in its history, a moment when vision, courage and cooperation can turn challenges into opportunities and ambition into lasting prosperity," said Sheikh Mansour.

According to Mansour, the meeting comes not only as representatives of the two nations, or institutions, but also as a community committed to shaping a future in which Africa and the Middle East grow together.

"A future in which opportunities know no borders. A future where innovation fuels progress. A future where all citizens, especially our young people, have a role to play in building strong and resilient societies," he added.

Mansour praised Chapo's unwavering commitment, saying that it inspires confidence and demonstrates that a country united behind its people can achieve great things.
