Mozambique and seven other countries benefit from women's entrepreneurship fund

Moçambique e outros sete países beneficiam de fundo para empreendedorismo feminino

Mozambican women and women from seven other African countries now have another funding channel for entrepreneurial initiatives.

This is the WE4A Africa Entrepreneurship Program, recently launched by the Tony Elemelu Foundation and partners from the European Union, German Cooperation and the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.

The WE4A Program is being implemented in eight African countries, including Mozambique, and aims to encourage the participation of African women entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools and resources they need to develop their businesses and contribute to the economic development of their countries.

The entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to receive non-refundable seed capital funding of five thousand dollars to expand their businesses, in addition to world-class training and expert guidance.

In the first phase of the program, 2,000 women entrepreneurs were funded across the African continent.

The Communications and Marketing Director of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Moyo Awotile, said in Maputo that the call for applications for the second edition of the IYBA-WE4A Program has been open since October 6, 2025 and is scheduled to close in January 2026. (Text: Radio Mozambique)
