The Minister of Health repudiates the waves of strikes in the sector, which are severely damaging the health of patients in health facilities. For Ussene Isse, the current situation in hospitals and other healthcare centers is a disaster.
"That's not conceivable, it's not permissible for someone to have such a bad heart and claim to be healthy. You have a heart that doesn't want to take care of the other. Our profession, unfortunately, is one in which strikes are not permissible," he said.
Health workers have been on strike since last week, demanding better working conditions. However, according to the Minister, strikes in the health sector are not permissible.
"We can't go on strike while people are dying. Unfortunately, our profession is one in which strikes are not permissible. A strike in health is a disaster," he said, justifying his position by the fact that he deals with life, "a gift from God".
In the meantime, he asked the employees to be patient, saying that the government is open to finding joint solutions to solve the problem they are facing.
"My recommendation and my request to my colleagues is that we discuss the matter, on the one hand, but we can't stop attending to our patients," he suggested, while calling on the striking employees to "ensure health" for the population.
"Let's work together, in an organized way, in a structured way, because we have to save lives," he exhorted, quoted by the The Country.
He was speaking during the central ceremonies of World Malaria Day in Gaza province.
