Mining company Vulcan was distinguished as the Best Mining Company in Mozambique during the 11th edition of the Mozambique Mines and Energy Conference (MMEC 2025), held this week under the slogan: "Transforming Mozambique's natural resources to drive industrialization and regional integration."

The award recognizes the Indian mining company's exceptional performance in the extractive sector, as well as its ongoing commitment to community development, the adoption of innovative solutions and the creativity applied in all areas of its operation. The award ceremony was attended by representatives of the government, the private sector and partners from the international community linked to the mining and energy industries.

According to a report in the Rigor newspaper, the recognition was enthusiastically received by the entire team. Venkatesh Jindal, in a gesture of thanks, congratulated the employees with the following message: "Well deserved! We are making Mozambique and Mozambicans proud. Congratulations to the whole team!"

In addition to the award, Vulcan actively participated in two panel discussions held as part of the MMEC. The company's CEO, Mukesh Kumar, was a speaker in two sessions, where he highlighted Vulcan's contribution to the sustainable development of the national mining sector and presented the company's vision for generating energy from coal tailings - an innovative project that foresees the construction of a power plant with significant benefits for Mozambique and neighboring countries.

This award joins a recent distinction in which Vulcan was named Mozambique's Largest Company in the ranking of the 100 Largest Companies, promoted by KPMG. Both achievements reinforce the company's role as one of the main drivers of the country's economic and social development.
