There is a risk of moderate urban flooding over the next 48 hours in the cities of Maputo, Matola and Beira, due to the heavy to moderate rains that have been falling since dawn on Sunday (16), the night before in the south and center of the country.

In a statement, the National Directorate for Water Management warns residents of riverside areas of the risk of a rise in the alert level of the Maputo and Umbelúzi river basins in Maputo province.

In this context, it calls on citizens to avoid crossing riverbeds.
