Argentine footballer Lionel Messi returned to training with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Monday, after his controversial trip to Saudi Arabia a week ago following the defeat against Lorient.

According to Agence France-Presse, PSG had suspended the Argentinian international for two weeks: he couldn't train, he couldn't play and he wouldn't be paid for the duration of the disciplinary process.

It's worth remembering that last week Messi, despite apologizing, was not seen training under coach Christophe Galtier, nor did he play this Sunday in the Parisians' win at Troyes.

However, this morning he returned to training. "Leo Messi returned to training on Monday morning," the club announced on social media.

Messi, it should be noted, is at the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. The international press has reported that the two parties are unlikely to extend the contract.
