The book "The Adventures of Detective Malaica Muniga", the second by journalist Omardine Omar, will be launched in Maputo, at the Portuguese Cultural Center, from 5:30 p.m. on June 19 this year.
With 108 pages overflowing with mystery, the book unfolds in 10 crime narratives that depart from the conventional, immersing the reader in a universe where the unpredictable is the only certainty.
Malaica Muniga's saga, unraveling riddles throughout Mozambican territory, promises to be breathtaking. The big question, which the author himself suggests in the last story, echoes in the air: will Maputo have a new Sherlock Holmes unraveling his most hidden secrets?
According to Friar Lafim Monteiro, who signs the foreword, "The Adventures of Detective Muniga is a mixture of literary genres that carefully record the life dilemmas of countless young people thrown in at the deep end. These are stories of life and survival, both in the countryside and in the city, in the three regions of our beautiful Mozambique. Without a doubt, the work is an authentic X-ray of the Mozambican scene."
On the book, writer and translator Janato I. Janato writes: "This book is unequivocal proof that there are still scribes committed to the truth, who do everything they can to ensure that freedom of expression and respect for fundamental rights and freedoms prevail in Mozambique."
The book will be presented by political activist Wilker Dias. "The Adventures of Detective Malaica Muniga" is published by Gala-Gala Edições and is part of the "Swikiro" collection.
