WhatsApp announced this Monday, the 22nd, the launch of one of its most requested and eagerly awaited features - the ability to edit messages sent in individual chats or groups.

This option was created mainly to correct spelling mistakes. Even so, users only have the ability to edit messages that have been sent in the last 15 minutes.

In addition, according to Notícias ao Minuto, all edited messages will be identified as such by a label that will also indicate the time the message was changed.

Meanwhile, despite being launched this Monday, the ability to edit messages is not yet available to all users and should only arrive in all versions of WhatsApp in the next few months and (perhaps) weeks.

The option is, of course, also available on WhatsApp Web for computers. In this version all you have to do is press the down arrow on the message you want to edit and choose the 'Edit message' option. Simply make the change and confirm.
