The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Silvino Moreno, said this Monday in Maputo that China has invested around one billion dollars in Mozambique in the last few years. latestfive years, with the main focus on infrastructure.

The information was given during the promotion of the 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Exhibition (CAETE) in which Mozambique is guest of honor.

The event will take place from June 29 to July 2 in Changsha, Hunan province, with the participation of other guests of honor, including Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Malawi, Morocco, Nigeria and Zambia.
The country's participation in this event is the result of the strong cooperation between Mozambique and China.

"We have very strong bilateral cooperation with China. China is Mozambique's third largest bilateral partner and has invested around a billion dollars in infrastructure and other projects in our country over the last five years," said Moreno, quoted by AIM.

"We are sure that this is the path we have to follow, attracting more Chinese investment and taking advantage of the opportunities that are on offer, not just for the government or the state, but also for the private companies that are the driving force behind the country's development," he added.
