Finally, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denounced the operation this morning, calling it "a serious violation of the UN Charter" and an "outrageous" act.

Araghchi warned that the action "will have consequences" and reaffirmed that "Iran reserves all available options to defend its sovereignty, its interests and its people" and called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

So far, Russia, which maintains good relations with Iran, has not issued any statement or political position on the US attacks on Iran.

European diplomacy chief and Von der Leyen call for restraint

The European Union's top diplomat said that Iran should not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, but urged those involved in the conflict to show restraint.

"I urge all parties to back down, return to the negotiating table and avoid further escalation," said EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas in a social media post.

The President of the European Union, Ursula von der Leyen, has posted on the X network that stability in the region must be our priority, as well as respect for international law. She calls for a diplomatic solution. (Source: Euronews)
