The government, through the National Press of Mozambique (INM), has introduced the use of a two-dimensional bar code "QR Code" to facilitate electronic access to the Boletim da República (BR)..

The initiative, which came into force this week, also aims to strengthen the security and authenticity of official documents published digitally.

The measure, announced by the National Press of Mozambique (INM) through an official notice dated May 2025, comes in compliance with Decree No. 5/2021, of February 17, which establishes free access to BR in electronic format.

"In order to guarantee that digital documents have the same legal value as paper, a security element will now be included, a QR Code that redirects the user to the official website of the National Press, allowing the original document to be viewed," reads the note, quoted by the Txopela newspaper.
