The government approved this Tuesday (20), through the Council of Ministers, the resolution that determines the holding of the 5th General Population and Housing Census in Mozambique.
According to the Council of Ministers, the census will take place from August 1st to 15th, throughout the country. Thus, the same resolution "reactivates and approves the composition of the Coordinating Council for the 5th General Population and Housing Census".
In 2017, Mozambique had 28.8 million inhabitants, eight million more than in 2007, according to the results of the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Meanwhile, at the same ordinary session of the Council of Ministers, the government also approved the addendum to the Action Plan for the Public Administration Reform and Development Strategy (ERDAP 2025).
"The addendum aims to adapt the ERDAP Action Plan to the new cycle of governance, which culminated in the restructuring of the Public Administration," said spokesman Inocêncio Impissa.
