Frelimo says economic independence is not about handing out money

Frelimo diz que independência económica não é distribuir dinheiro

The deputy head of Frelimo's Provincial Elections Office in Inhambane, Eduardo Mussanhane, said today (03) that one of the great challenges facing this party and its candidate, Daniel Chapo, is to create the conditions to make economic independence viable by holding agricultural fairs so that the prices of agricultural products compensate for production costs.

Speaking to the residents of Cambine as part of the election campaign, Mussanhane, quoted by the newspaper Domingo, explained that "when you defend economic independence, you're not promising to distribute money", but rather to find strategies so that producers are able to unify and defend the agricultural marketing scale, with the aim of valuing the work of producers.

In front of hundreds of Frelimo members and supporters, Mussanhane also stressed that as part of boosting the local economy, Frelimo and Chapo will reintroduce the District Development Fund, FDD, so that the country can once again produce family income and provide jobs for young people.

To this end, Mussanhane asked for votes for Frelimo and its candidate Daniel Chapo in the elections on October 9.
