The secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Frelimo party in Gaza, Daniel Matavele, admitted yesterday, Thursday (05), the possibility of criminally prosecuting the PODEMOS party and its presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, for the attack and destruction of part of its headquarters, which took place this Wednesday in Xai-Xai.

For Frelimo, by smashing windows, setting fire to its headquarters and a vehicle belonging to the mobilization secretary, who was at the scene, "the demonstrators, under the guidance of Venâncio Mondlane, stopped doing politics and became criminals".

In a NewsMatavele also said that the demonstrators wanted to "embarrass" Frelimo, because it was a province considered a bastion of that political formation.

The source denounced the distribution of money and old tires in the neighborhoods to lure alleged demonstrators and use them in their actions, respectively, and lamented the participation of children in the demonstrations, which is why he asked parents and guardians to control the little ones.

This Thursday, protesters freed prisoners in Chibuto and set up barricades on the N1 in Chidenguele.
