China wants to boost bilateral economic cooperation with the nine Portuguese-speaking countries (CPLP) and to this end has adopted a plan that includes 20 measures.

The various measures put forward by Beijing should be implemented in the three-year period 2024-2027, between the member countries and China.

"We will offer 3,000 training places for CPLP countries, including government scholarships for CPLP students to study in China," said Li Honghzhong, vice-president of the People's Assembly of China.

Among other things, the Chinese cooperation proposal includes maintaining an export credit insurance system, focusing on priority sectors, as well as supporting the entry of food and agricultural products, strengthening air links and setting up joint scientific laboratories.
