Politician Manuel Jorge Tomé lost his life in the early hours of Monday morning (25), in the city of Maputo, victim of illness.
He was born on November 20, 1952, in Chimoio, Manica province. During his life he was a journalist, director-general of Rádio Moçambique, member of the political committee and secretary-general of the Frelimo party, MP and member of the standing committee of the Assembly of the Republic, non-executive director of Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa, and president of the Mozambican Swimming Federation.
As a journalist, he was editor-in-chief of the newspaper Notícias and secretary-general of the National Union of Journalists. (Source: Rádio Moçambique)
