Mark Zuckerberg's company, Facebook, has announced that it is working on a bookmarking tool to approach small businesses and help them reach their customers more easily during the Christmas season.
The Cupertino company yesterday began gradually making Appointment Book available to small businesses worldwide. The tool will allow businesses to receive and manage customer bookings from their Facebook pages. And, on the other hand, customers will now have a more convenient way to secure a reservation with service providers at times that suit them best.
Interaction between service providers and customers will be via audio and/or video calls. However, this purpose is still in an evaluation phase in order to ensure a private environment for interactions through the Business Inbox in Messenger.
Facebook also announces that it will bring Live Audio Rooms to small businesses, even if only a few have access to the tool. Through these "live audio rooms", it is possible to organize live conversations, with speakers, if need be.
Zuckerberg's company also plans to add personalized ad features for small businesses. Soon, people will be able to see an informative message in their feed when they "like" an advertisement, according to Facebook.
Facebook also advances that it will add tools to the existing Facebook Business Suite: to provide insights and simplify the process of creating ads. In practice, the intention is to save companies time by offering them features that allow them, among others, to measure the performance of an ad.
Facebook will also provide recommendations on targeting, optimizations for ongoing campaigns, and easy access to best practices in the Blueprint and Help Center, it said in a statement.
