Eight armed men carried out an assault on the home of a foreign businessman in the Mukatine neighborhood, in the municipality of Matola. The incident occurred when the assailants broke into the house, resulting in a violent attack.

Information provided by "Notícias" indicates that during the raid, the robbers shot the owner, who was promptly rescued and taken to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.

Inside the house, the robbers took an unspecified amount of cash, jewelry and cell phones before fleeing.

The police authorities were promptly called and are on the ground investigating to find out who is responsible for the crime. So far, no suspects have been arrested.
