A total of 62,000 customers in the city of Maputo were left without electricity at the beginning of last night (12), due to an anomaly in the electricity grid, Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) announced in a statement.

According to the company, the power outage affected customers in the Central A, B and C, Polana A, B, C, Sommershield, Mafala, Malhangalene, Alto Maé and Baixa neighborhoods in Maputo city.

According to the note, the company's technical teams are already on the ground working to restore the electricity system to the affected areas as soon as possible.

The company also says that as a result of the ongoing work, some of the affected neighborhoods are already gradually being supplied by alternative sources.
