Four immigrants of Pakistani nationality were arrested at the weekend in the district of Milange by the Zambezia Provincial Directorate of Migration when they tried to enter the country illegally.

According to the institution's spokesman, Reinaldo Massorongo, quoted by "Notícias Online", the Pakistanis had no documents and were being transported on motorcycles by other foreigners, who fled, abandoning the means of transport.

One of the detained immigrants said he intended to use the country as a corridor to reach neighboring South Africa.

According to the publication, the group intended to use the Beúla checkpoint, five hundred kilometers from the official border post between Mozambique and Malawi.
