A group of unidentified citizens invaded the Renamo party office in Malelane, in the Namiteca district of Nampula city, on the third day of the electoral campaign (26.08) and filled its walls with Frelimo party leaflets with the symbol and image of the presidential candidate for the October 9 elections.
Renamo's list leader for governor, Abiba Aba, is convinced that the act is a form of provocation by the Frelimo party. "But we don't want violence. We're going for peace," she said, quoted by the newspaper Rigor.
According to Abiba Aba, these kinds of attitudes on the part of Frelimo started in the pre-campaign period, and she says she doesn't know the motivation.
"We've had episodes of our mast being removed in Murrupula, and the headquarters of Murrupula and Mogovolas being burned down," he said.
Renamo's concern extends to the Police of the Republic of Mozambique, who, according to the newspaper, were involved in the vandalization of Renamo's headquarters in Monapo.
