The Standing Committee of the Assembly of the Republic (CPAR), meeting today in Maputo for its Fourth Extraordinary Session, considered the Draft Program of Activities and Budget of the Assembly of the Republic (AR) for the year 2025.

The Draft Program of Activities for 2025, according to the document, reflects the axes framed in the constitutional and regimental competences and the main activities of the highest representative, legislative and supervisory body, namely: representation of citizens; legislative production; parliamentary oversight; institutional development; and international relations and international cooperation.

According to MP Calisto Cossa, who presented the document on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Assembly of the Republic (CAAR), the Draft Program of Activities for the Year 2025 presents a total of 19 activities and is a basic document that reflects the continuity of the objectives set out in the HR Strategic Plan.

In order to draw up the Draft AR Activities Program for 2025, proposals were submitted by the Organic Units of the AR General Secretariat.

In order to quantify the financial needs for the implementation of the Draft Activities of the Assembly of the Republic for 2025, the Draft Budget of the Assembly of the Republic was drawn up, which was also discussed at the CPAR meeting. (Information Note)
