For the Mahometan community, the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, has been a tireless defender of peace, justice and human dignity.

Reacting in a statement to the physical disappearance of Pope Francis, the Community said that during his pontificate, Pope Francis marked the world with his humility, moral courage and firm commitment to the most vulnerable.

He also says that his legacy transcends religious boundaries, being recognized as a figure of conciliation, empathy and dialogue between peoples and confessions.

"The Mahometan Community pays special tribute to His Holiness' stance of solidarity with the Palestinian people. His voice, always clear and courageous, denounced the injustice of the occupation and tirelessly called for peace with justice, recognition of the dignity of the Palestinian people and respect for their legitimate rights," the statement said.

"In a world often silenced by fear or indifference, Pope Francis was a beacon of conscience and humanity. At this time of mourning, we join in solidarity with our Catholic brothers and sisters, and pay tribute to a man who lived his faith with truth, promoting love, dialog and hope," he concludes.
