Standard Bank is a co-sponsor of the ninth annual Gas and Energy Summit and Exhibition (MGES), which brings together various national and international players in the sector with the aim of discussing the various investment opportunities that the country offers in the areas of mining, energy, and oil and gas.
The event, scheduled for September 27 and 28 in Maputo, has as its motto "Developing Mozambique's Sustainable Integrated Energy System".
By associating itself with this event, Standard Bank aims to stimulate debate on relevant issues for the sustainable development of the sector in the country, and thereby contribute to the search for solutions to current challenges, such as the energy transition to cleaner and "environmentally friendly" energies.
In addition to co-sponsoring the event, Standard Bank staff will take part in three panel discussions on relevant and cross-cutting issues in the mining and energy sector.
These are Paul Taylor (Head of Energy and Infrastructure at Standard Bank Group), Ziyad Adam (Head of Energy and Infrastructure at Standard Bank Mozambique) and Rochelle Chetty (Environment and Sustainability Manager and Consultant at Standard Bank Group), who will be part of the panels on "Project Financing: New Structures and Innovative Strategies to Support the Extension of Energy Projects", "Energy Production and Transportation Solutions: Projects, Networks, Oil and Gas Pipelines, Maritime", and the round table on "Sustainable Finance", respectively.
MGES is an important platform for attracting investment to some of the country's main development areas, namely: infrastructure, electricity, mining, and oil and gas, among others.
For this reason, Standard Bank's participation in this conference also includes a stand in the exhibition area, where it will interact with investors and anyone interested in knowing how the bank can help structure, advise and finance projects in the areas of electricity and oil and gas.
