The government recognizes the complexity of the current context of violence in Cabo Delgado, where armed groups continue to sow panic among civilians. This Tuesday (05), the spokesman for the Council of Ministers, Inocêncio Impissa, admitted that it is not clear whether the recent attacks are perpetrated by terrorist groups or by the naparamas, but assured that the Defence and Security Forces (FDS) are acting to contain the movements and neutralize the attackers.
"It's hard to say if yes, if they are terrorists or if they are naparamas," Impissa said after a session of the Council of Ministers, adding that both groups have been moving or trying to mobilize between different points in the province.
Quoted in a Txopela NewspaperThe government spokesman assured that the SDS have prevented these movements from turning into new outbreaks of violence, although the risk persists in several areas, particularly in the districts of Chiúre and Muidumbe.
Asked about the humanitarian impact of the latest incursions, Impissa said that the government was continuing to mobilize support to reinforce aid to the affected populations, at a time when thousands of displaced people are piling up in precarious reception centers and the conditions for assistance are becoming increasingly challenging.
Faced with a conflict that has been going on since 2017 and has already displaced more than a million people, the Executive reaffirms its determination to contain the violence.
