At least 10 terrorists were shot and four captured on September 25 in the Mucojo Administrative Post, Macomia district, by the Armed Defense Forces of Mozambique (FADM), which has the support of Rwanda, as a result of an ongoing offensive in that region of Cabo Delgado.
According to the Chief of Staff of the Northern Operational Command, General Omar Saranga, quoted by Televisão de Moçambique (TVM)At the time, the FADM suffered four casualties during clashes with the insurgents.
Meanwhile, a publication by Carta de Moçambique, citing military sources, says that the terrorists are divided into small groups and dispersed, revealing that they are facing a challenge, above all due to the placement of explosives along the main road that gives access to the Mucojo Administrative Post from the Macomia district headquarters.
The province of Cabo Delgado has been affected by a conflict since October 2017 that has terrorized the population. The conflict has already caused more than 4,000 deaths (data from The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project) and at least one million displaced people, according to an assessment made by the Mozambican authorities.
