The National Defense and Security Council, which met this Friday in the town of Mueda, in Cabo-Delgado, under the guidance of the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, decided to increase human and material resources to combat terrorism in Cabo-Delgado.

The Secretary General of the National Defense and Security Council, Basílio Monteiro, also told journalists that the meeting also decided on the integration of the Local Force.

"The operational apparatus has been strengthened, equipment has been reinforced for a more aggressive confrontation with the enemy, and important decisions have also been taken for the inclusion and motivation of the Local Force, which lacked a legal framework for its operation and recognition on a national scale," he said.

Basílio Monteiro said that the current state of security in Cabo Delgado province and in the country is positive. (RM)
