Right after the final whistle of the game, Roger Schmidt, in declarations to BTV, said that the team managed to fulfill the objectives outlined at the beginning of the season, and is happy for the fans.

"It was a very long fight during the season. We need the last game to win. We are very relieved. The team deserved it. We did it and we are happy for our fans, who are the great motivation. We know they are happy after four years without a title. Today is a great day for Benfica? said the German coach.

To the Benfica fans, Schmidt stressed that "I already told them, the fans have been with us all season, it would have been impossible without them, I wish them a great summer."
