The BCI and the Girl Move Academy initialed a partnership protocol on Friday (26) at the BCI's headquarters in Maputo, establishing the terms and conditions for the implementation of projects for the development of communities, through the training of young Mozambican women.
Under the agreement, the BCI will continue its support, which began in 2021, with more Impact grants for women's participation in the Change Program.
This program includes 700 hours of mentoring for vulnerable teenagers, reaching a thousand teenagers and young people per year/per impact grant. To date, young leaders' projects have been launched, benefiting more than 15,000 young people.
"We are pleased to have reached this point, and we are confident that we will be able to achieve the programs that our partnership advocates.
There is room to be creative. We are therefore ready to continue taking steps together in a two-way relationship" - said BCI director Luís Aguiar, who co-signed the protocol together with director Rogério Lam.
Girl Move representative Marta Roff, who also initialed the terms, spoke about the Academy's 10 years of existence.
"It all started as a dream," she said. She continued: "Over these 10 years, we have developed a circular methodology which, on the one hand, elevates the talent of young women and, on the other, makes them aware that they can only progress if they elevate themselves."
He also indicated that the design of the school mentoring manual is underway, together with partners. "Our dream is for this circular methodology to reach all schools," he concluded.
The BCI's scope of support involves the leadership and social innovation program, which is aimed at young women between the ages of 20 and 30, with a bachelor's or master's degree, and promotes a new generation of young women leaders and agents of change for sustainable development.
