A technical mission from the World Bank is assessing the progress of the water supply and sanitation program in the north and center of the country..
Called the "Safe Water Project", the program is being implemented in the provinces of Nampula and Zambézia, where the World Bank hopes the initiative will have a potential impact on people's lives.
The meeting, which began on Monday (12), will last a week and brings together the project's implementing entities at national level, which are the Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Administration (AIAS) and the National Water Supply and Sanitation Directorate (DNAAS), including the implementing units at provincial level.
It should be noted that last week the World Bank mission was in Nampula, where it accompanied the start of construction work on four water supply systems in the districts of Malema, Nametil, Namapa and the Namialo administrative post.
The Safe Water for Villages and Rural Areas project is funded by the World Bank and is being developed in partnership with the Mozambican government.
