Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) reported that a fault in the medium-voltage cable of a substation located in the Ferroviário neighborhood in Maputo City has left 2,500 customers without electricity in the country's capital since yesterday afternoon, Monday (17).

According to the company, these are customers in the Polana Caniço B, Mavalane B, Maxaquene C and Maxaquene D neighborhoods, who are in the dark due to the anomaly.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the state-owned electricity company said that "technical teams are on the ground to repair the fault and restore the normal electricity supply to the affected areas as soon as possible".
