Sealing of nationally produced beer starts next month

Arranca no próximo mês, selagem da cerveja de produção nacional

The sealing of domestically produced beer will begin next month in the country. The sealing of beer marks the third phase of the implementation of the sealing process for manufactured tobacco and beverages, which began in 2017 in the country.

The General Coordinator of the Implementation Unit of the sealing project, at the Mozambique Tax Authority, said that in February 2022 the production and importation of beer without a fiscal control seal will begin.

Miguel Nhane, who was speaking today in Maputo at a press conference to review the 1st and 2nd phases of the implementation of the sealing process for manufactured tobacco and alcoholic beverages, also said that as of August 2022 the circulation of these unsealed products will be prohibited in the market.

According to Miguel Nhane the fight against the falsification of the fiscal control seal is still a challenge.

Faced with this situation, the Tax Authority assures that it is making efforts to mitigate stamp counterfeiting.
