Apple remains determined to rely solely on Face ID, despite having tested the implementation in prototypes of the new models.
In 2017 Apple decided to remove the Touch ID fingerprint sensor from its iPhones, replacing it entirely with the Face ID facial recognition system - which is still present in Apple's phones.
Who says so is Bloomberg (via 9to5mac), indicating that iPhones in the near future will continue to rely exclusively on Face ID.
The publication notes that Touch ID may continue to be found in iPhone SE models and iPads, but as far as new high-end iPhones are concerned, it appears that there are no plans to implement the sensor anytime soon.
