Venâncio Mondlane's ANAMOLA party is holding the first extraordinary session of its executive committee in Maputo city today (19.5), the politician told the press yesterday afternoon on his arrival in the country.

"It will be at this meeting that we will define the guidelines, the pillars and the strategies for what will happen in the future," the party leader and former presidential candidate told reporters.

"What I can say.... is that we will continue to defend the people above our pockets. We will continue to defend the people above private interests," said Venâncio Mondlane.

In his speech, the politician also guaranteed that his political group will run in the 2028 local elections.

"With ANAMOLA and you, 2028, all the municipalities, we're going to clean them up... The municipalities that have been run on the basis of the force of the barrel, on the basis of tear gas and armored vehicles, we want to uproot all of them, clean everything up," said Mondlane, convinced of his words.
