ANAMOLA is the name of Venâncio Mondlane's party. It has already submitted an appeal for approval to the CC

ANAMOLA é o nome do partido de Venâncio Mondlane. Já submeteu recurso de aprovação ao CC

The curtain that kept the name of former presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane's party a secret has fallen, and it is now being proposed after the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs (MJACR) annulled the first proposal.

Initially, Mondlane's party was to be called the National Alliance for a Free and Autonomous Mozambique, whose acronym would be "ANAMALALA", but the MJACR ordered a change, citing divisive reasons based on the diversity of interpretations of the acronym in the different languages spoken in Mozambique. Having accepted the ministerial recommendation, Mondlane and his support base kept the name and changed the acronym to ANAMOLA.

It was through a post on social media yesterday about Mondlane's appeal to the Constitutional Council (CC) that we learned of the party's new acronym.

In the document, the CC is asked to rule on whether or not Mondlane's political formation is legitimate, due to the fact that the MJACR did not do so in good time, the deadline for which was August 4, according to the document shared. It is alleged that, with the MJACR's failure to give its opinion, there was a tacit rejection of the party's request for formalization.
