Amazon develops autonomous robot to work in the company's warehouses

Amazon desenvolve robô autónomo para trabalhar nos armazéns da empresa

Amazon has officially unveiled its new autonomous robot that will be present in the company's warehouses in order to optimize the operation of these distribution centers. The robot goes by the name Proteus and, despite its discreet appearance, is capable of autonomously navigating the warehouses while carrying orders.

This robot stems from Amazon's acquisition of robotics company Kiva in 2012 and aims to optimize the transportation of packages, ensuring that tasks are completed quickly and efficiently.

"From the early days of acquiring Kiva, our vision was never locked into a binary decision of people or technology. Instead, it was about people and technology working in a safe and harmonious way to deliver to our customers. That vision still holds true today," Amazon's statement quoted by Notícias ao Minuto reads.

The elcetronic trading giant has shared a video where you can see Proteus in operation and you can find it above.
