The World Bank revealed that the Mozambican economy accelerated by 4.1% in 2022, led by the agriculture and services sectors which contributed 60% of the total growth recorded, as a result of improved productivity and the provision of services.

According to AIM, the top causes were investments in inputs since 2019, such as improved seeds, irrigation and machinery, which had a positive impact on increasing production and productivity rates, and private services, which grew by four percent compared to one percent in 2021.

The data is contained in the World Bank's economic update for Mozambique for 2022, which takes an exhaustive look at the role of services in economic growth and job creation in Mozambique.

"Services and agriculture accounted for 60% of the total growth recorded in 2022, largely reflecting the full recovery in mobility and the improvement in agricultural productivity," reads the World Bank's approach.
