Absa Bank has just been distinguished as the "Best Financial Institution in Women's Empowerment in Mozambique 2023" by the British magazine Global Banking & Finance Review.
In a statement, the bank said that its distinction reaffirms its efforts to create an increasingly inclusive environment that is favorable to the development and retention of talent, especially for women.
According to the Director of People and Culture, Hanifa Hassangy, the concern to establish equal opportunities in selection processes is part of the organization's DNA and there is a constant challenge at Absa to ensure balance in leadership positions.
"Over the last few years, we have launched various opportunities for our employees, but we strive to ensure balance in the recruitment process, with a view to guaranteeing balanced representation in the various business areas within the organization. This award is the result of hard work which shows that our concern goes far beyond providing an excellent service to our clients. On a daily basis, we seek to build a more inclusive and sustainable society," said the manager.
In addition, the source believes that the existence of women in leadership positions within the Bank is living proof of the merit of this award.
"This achievement reflects the bank's ongoing commitment to defending women's rights and valuing the important role played by female employees," she emphasized.
