REVIMO suspends employee contracts until the future has no horizon

REVIMO suspende contratos de funcionários até o futuro sem horizonte

The contracts of the employees working at the tolls belonging to the Mozambique Road Network (REVIMO) in the cities of Maputo and Maputo province will be suspended as of next March 2025.

The decision, according to a ZumboFM publication, directly affects the toll booth workers who were vandalized during the demonstrations.

Reliable sources quoted in the publication indicate that, as soon as conditions are right, the employees of the affected tolls will be asked to return gradually. However, the exact date for the return remains undefined.

The measure comes after the destruction of several toll infrastructures during the protests, which resulted in major material and operational damage.

The suspension of contracts by REVIMO could affect many families, dragging just over 200 workers into unemployment.

It's been more than three months since motorists stopped paying toll fees. In mid-January, the government announced the resumption of toll collection, but it seems that the measure didn't work.
