The Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) is demanding compensation of 105,421,448.18 meticais from the independent presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, for the damage caused by protesters on the border of Ressano Garcia, Moamba district, Maputo province, as part of the demonstrations.

The same civil action targets António Forquilha, as president of the Optimist Party for the Development of Mozambique (Podemos), which supports Mondlane's candidacy.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has already filed the document with the Maputo Provincial Court, as it believes that public goods have been vandalized and destroyed.

This is the second civil action against Mondlane and Forquilha. In the first, the MP asked for compensation of 32,377,276.46 meticais.
