Beira Airport is banning the parking of vehicles about 300 meters from the terminal area to reduce the risk of possible terrorist attacks, as recommended by global rules.
The director of the institution, Domingos Rodrigues, who revealed the fact, said that this is in compliance with the security measures of international aviation through risk analysis by the Civil Aviation Authority in Mozambique.
"Beira Airport has been recommended to take measures to prevent the parking of cars in the vicinity of the terminal because of the terrorism situation in the world," he explained.
This is, as he indicated, a dynamic of activities whose procedures fall under the mitigation of attacks because in addition to men and car bombs, the terrorists have specific zones that they attack.
Work is underway to improve the porch for accommodating travelers, at a time when the process of international certification of Beira Airport has been underway for four years.
