One hundred and sixty apartments inserted in the "Habita Mozambique" project will be built this year in the Marracuene district, in Maputo, and in the city of Chimoio, Manica province, benefiting the middle-income population.
The President of the Administration Council (PCA) of the FFH, Armindo Munguambe, told that the construction of these apartments is part of the Government's commitment to provide housing adjusted to the needs of the various social groups, through the expansion of existing projects and the identification of new areas of investment.
To this end, the bidding process to find the contractor is currently underway, and work is expected to begin in the coming months.
The apartments planned for Marracuene are inserted in the Zintava Condominium, an area where 160 houses have already been built. The planned investment for the third phase of "Zintava" is 600 million meticais, financed by the State Budget.
"Regarding 'Zintava', the launch of the third phase is in perspective. The financial availability does not allow to build the number of dwellings foreseen in the project and at this stage we will move forward with 128 apartments," he said.
The "Zintava" project consists of four-story buildings and is being developed in a phased manner, with the third batch of apartments likely to be available to potential buyers next year.
Zintava" has the goal of building 1840 type 2 and 3 apartments in the next few years, with a budget of 90 million dollars (5.7 billion meticais).
In relation to the 32 apartments in Chimoio, to be erected in the Mozambican Heroes neighborhood, the administrative procedures are also in the conclusive phase, and the construction work should start this semester.
"The construction work for the 32 apartments in Chimoio is at an advanced stage of bidding. We anticipate that the construction work will start in the next few days," he added.
Also in the scope of "Habita Mozambique", in the housing component, the Government will deliver 38 residences, which are part of a batch of 100 houses, built in the Chongoene district, Gaza province.
Meanwhile, Munguambe assured that the institution will continue to give attention to the other ongoing projects, with emphasis on "Renascer", aimed at the low-income population and the provision of infrastructure land.
