The opposition parties, Renamo, Podemos and Nova Democracia, in the city of Quelimane, Zambézia, united and marched through the streets of the city this afternoon in repudiation of the election results announced by the National Electoral Commission.
Raising political party and national flags and placards, the hundreds of marchers, most on foot and others on bicycles, chanted the motto of the day at the demonstrations: "Save Mozambique. This country is ours!
The slogans contained messages of repudiation of kidnappings, abductions and assassinations, fraudulent election results, as well as raising popular consciousness, People in Power!
The demonstrators were also calling for the current President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, to go to jail.
One of the party representatives said that the marches would continue on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. In particular, the Podemos party is not going to stop the marches.
There were no skirmishes or vandalism or physical insults against the demonstrators.
