Zambézia: Incêndio na Comissão Provincial de Eleições continua ainda por se esclarecer

The Zambezia Provincial Prosecutor's Office says it is still working to clarify a fire that occurred at the beginning of the month at the Provincial Electoral Commission, noting that it has not yet arrested any suspects.

On August 2, unknown assailants set fire to a car belonging to the chairman of the Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE) in Zambézia, central Brazil.

According to a DWThere was also a fire inside the building where several pieces of electronic equipment were destroyed.

"There are already suspects involved in these two fires," said Zambézia's provincial prosecutor, Fred Jamal, without giving many details.

According to the magistrate, the cases will be cleared up soon.

Meanwhile, a similar case occurred last year with the car of the district director of the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) in Quelimane, after the provisional results of the local elections were announced, which primarily pointed to Frelimo as the winner.

In both cases, the vehicles were set on fire in closed spaces, protected by officers from the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM). The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) and the PRM have yet to arrest anyone suspected in connection with what happened.
