The last plane containing electoral material landed at Maputo International Airport last night (04/04), the National Electoral Commission said in a statement sent to the media.
This flight, from Hong Kong, is the third and last to contain voter registration material. The second plane to land with electoral material came from France and landed at Maputo International Airport on March 26.
And the first, which came from Hong Kong, landed in Maputo at the beginning of March, containing 108 tons of various electoral equipment for voter registration.
The last of the electoral material is arriving two weeks before the start of voter registration, which will pose a major challenge for the electoral administration bodies in distributing it to the districts. The National Electoral Commission includes voting material in the batch to arrive. However, the public tender for the company to import the voting material was due to be launched in May, according to the electoral calendar published last July, which has now been revised. (CIP Text)
